Zagorochoria is a complex of 46 villages that belong to the prefecture of Ioannina in Epirus and are located to the north of Mount Pindos, stand with their architecture and the traditional method of construction based on stone. There you will find the National Park of Vikos, unique in Greece with rich flora and fauna. Zagorochoria are divided into three regions, Central Zagori, East and West.
In Central Zagori are located the villages Ano and Kato Pedina, Vitsa and Monodentri. Other Known villages are Tsepelovo, Kapesovo and Kipoi or Kipi. East Zagori includes the villages of the valley of Varda as Greveniti, Elatohori, Makrino, Flabourari, Tristeno, Anthrakitis, Karies, Doliani, Kavallari, Vovousa, Demati, Itea, Petra, Kastanona and the settlements of St. Paraskevi and Potamia. Finally, at West Zagori there are the villages Big (Megalo) and Small (Mikro) Papigo, Arísti, Vikos, Agios Minas and Mesovouni.
The area offers many choices of activities for all tastes. The lovers of the water element have the choice of rafting and for those who like to hike are given the opportunity for routes into bridges and gorges, like Vikos Gorge. Other options for sports activities are the mountain bike, kayak, climbing, skiing and horse riding.
The visitor can also meet the local products and taste the traditional flavors of Zagorochoria. You can buy many famous traditional local products such as dairy products, chestnuts, apples, walnuts, honey, mushrooms, spoon sweets, jams, pickles, local meat and folk art souvenirs.
